Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2020 is January 26 - February 1.

The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2020 is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. "Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities, and our nation."

Sunday, January 26^th – DMA Open House

Open House will be from 1pm – 4pm at Divine Mercy Academy

Monday, January 27^th – SILLY SOCK DAY

Active or Retired Military Personnel will come in and talk with the students
Students will research different branches of the military
Students will create care packages to send to the troops with food items/personal care items

Tuesday, January 28^th – FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM DAY

Students will be working on a poem about DMA and what this school means to them
Students will present poems in front of teachers/staff

Wednesday, January 29^th – HAT DAY & STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY

Students will attend Mass

Students will be writing Thank You notes to the Livonia Fire and Police
Students will get to watch a movie and have an ice cream treat

Thursday, January 30^th – PAJAMA DAY & PARENT APPRECIATION DAY

Continental Breakfast for Parent Appreciation with Thank You placemats made by students
“Career Day” – students will research their career and find a unique way to display their career or choice

Any student wishing to shadow at DMA can do so during a traditional academic week by calling the front office at the number above. School hours are 8:45am – 2:30pm.
